Electric cars Quantumscape: Did VW boss Diess fall for a bluff?

Being compared to Theranos is the biggest insult to a Silicon Valley startup right now. The blood analysis company emerged despite top-class investors such as media tsar Rupert Murdoch and prominent board members such as ex-foreign minister Henry Kissinger and the later defense minister James Mattis. Theranos’ technology didn’t work and partners like the supermarket chain Safeway and the drugstore Walgreens fell for it. Therano’s founder, Elizabeth Holmes, faces court in July. The 37-year-old is facing several decades in jail.

Is this fraud happening again in Silicon Valley right now? Again with prominent names, this time with the likes of Bill Gates, co-founder JB Straubel, discoverer John Doerr and boss Herbert Diess? Only in much larger dimensions, against whom Holmes seems like an amateur?
