However, the wildlife trade is flourishing not just in China, but around the world. According to the United Nations, illegal sales in this field reach similar dimensions as the trafficking in people, drugs or weapons.

Federal Environment Minister Svenja Schulze has already announced that she will focus on nature and wildlife protection after the corona crisis in order to prevent the outbreak of pandemics in the future.
